(Harlingen, TX) Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today awarded South Padre Island state Representative Tara Rios-Ybarra the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for her support of a fair and predictable civil justice system in Texas. Speaking to a breakfast in Kingsville and a lunch in Harlingen, TLR PAC Chairman Richard Trabulsi said:

"Rep. Rios Ybarra is strongly committed to reforms that have reduced lawsuit abuse and helped ensure that doctors are not forced to flee the state because of high medical liability costs. As a health care professional, Rep. Rios Ybarra clearly understands that lawsuit reforms are vitally important to assuring that every community has access to doctors and health care."

TLR's Civil Justice Leadership Award is presented to lawmakers who take a stand in support of the model lawsuit reforms that are boosting the Texas economy, creating jobs and bringing doctors to every community.

Rep. Rios-Ybarra represents Texas House District 43 which includes Brooks, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Kleberg & Willacy Counties and parts of Cameron County. She serves on the House Agriculture and Livestock Committee, the Energy Resources Committee and the Rules and Resolutions Committee.
