Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today awarded State Senator Glenn Hegar the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for his support of a fair and predictable civil justice system in Texas. Speaking to a breakfast in Katy and a luncheon in Victoria, TLR PAC Chairman Richard Trabulsi said:
"Senator Hegar is committed to a fair and balanced civil justice system and lawsuit reform. As Vice Chair of the Sunset Commission, in the last legislative session, Senator Hegar was vigilant in keeping all sunset legislation focused on core concepts and refused to allow sunset bills to become vehicles for non-essential purposes. Senator Hegar always stands up for his district and the best interests of Texas."
TLR PAC's Civil Justice Leadership Award is presented to lawmakers who take a stand in support of the model lawsuit reforms that are boosting the Texas economy, creating jobs and bringing doctors to every community.
Senator Hegar represents Texas Senate District 18, which includes Aransas, Austin, Bastrop, Caldwell, Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend (parts) Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Waller, Washington and Wharton Counties. He is Vice Chairman of the Government Organization Committee and a member of the Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee, the Criminal Justice Committee, the Natural Resources Committee and the Nominations Committee.
