Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today awarded State Senator Robert Nichols the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for his support of a fair and predictable civil justice system in Texas. Speaking to a luncheon in Lufkin, TLR PAC Chairman Richard Trabulsi said:

"Senator Nichols is a principled and courageous defender of lawsuit reform. In the last legislative session he stood against every major piece of trial lawyer backed legislation proposed in the State Senate. Senator Nichols understands that a fair and balanced civil justice system is critical to maintaining a healthy Texas economy and assuring broad access to doctors and health care statewide."

TLR PAC's Civil Justice Leadership Award is presented to lawmakers who take a stand in support of the model lawsuit reforms that are boosting the Texas economy, creating jobs and bringing doctors to every community.

Senator Nichols represents Texas Senate District 3 which includes Anderson, Angelina, Cherokee, Hardin, Henderson, Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby and Tyler Counties and parts of Smith and Montgomery Counties. Nichols is Vice Chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee and serves on the Health and Human Services Committee, the Nominations Committee, the Transportation and Homeland Security Committee and the Flooding and Evacuations Sub-Committee.
