(AUSTIN, TX) - Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today endorsed State Senator Steve Ogden in Senate District 5.
In announcing the endorsement, TLR PAC Chairman Richard J. Trabulsi said:
"Senator Ogden understands the critical role of lawsuit reform in strengthening the Texas economy and increasing access to health care. Throughout his Senate career, the Senator has supported legislation that has taken Texas from 'the lawsuit capital of the world' to a fair and balanced civil justice system. He recognizes that lawsuit reform is a key component to job creation and the expansion of the tax base in our state.
"In the last legislative session, Senator Ogden helped block the Entergy bill in the Senate, preventing personal injury trial lawyers from overturning a sound decision by the Texas Supreme Court -- a decision which encourages property owners to provide workers? compensation insurance for all workers on a job site."
Senator Ogden is Chairman of the Finance Committee and is a member of the Administration, Education and Governmental Organization committees.
