State Representative Aaron Pena Earns Statewide Award for Fighting Lawsuit Abuse

(McAllen, TX) - Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today awarded State Representative Aaron Pena the TLR Civil Justice Leadership Award for his support of a fair and predictable civil justice system in Texas. Speaking to a luncheon in McAllen, co-sponsored by the Rio Grande Valley Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, TLR PAC Chairman Richard Trabulsi said:

“Rep. Aaron Pena’s strong commitment to lawsuit reform in Texas has increased access to doctors and health care in some of the neediest communities of our state. Aaron’s courageous support of a balanced and fair civil justice system has strengthened our economy, helping businesses expand, innovate and create jobs.”

TLR PAC’s Civil Justice Leadership Award is presented to lawmakers who take a stand in support of the model lawsuit reforms that are boosting the Texas economy, creating jobs and bringing doctors to every community.

State Representative Pena is Vice Chairman of the Elections Committee and a member of the Redistricting Committee and the Ways and Means Committee. Pena is also Chairman of the House Select Committee on Emergency Preparedness. First elected in 2002, Pena is running for his fifth term. House District 40 is located in Hidalgo County.
