TLR PAC Endorses Brian Birdwell In Texas Senate District 22

(Austin, TX) Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC announced its support of Lt. Col. Brian Birdwell (Ret.) who was recently elected to fill the seat of State Sen. Kip Averitt, who resigned from the State Senate earlier this year. Senator-elect Birdwell will complete Sen. Averitt’s term. TLR PAC Chairman Richard J. Trabulsi, Jr. said:

Lt. Col. Brian Birdwell is a survivor of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon. After hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon, Lt. Col. Birdwell was thrown to the ground and engulfed in flames. Of the burns that covered 60 percent of his body, nearly half were third degree. His recovery included undergoing 39 surgeries, intensive skin grafts and acutely painful medical care.

Lt. Col. Birdwell is a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont where he was named the Distinguished Military Graduate through the Army ROTC. As a U.S. Army Officer, Birdwell served in numerous stateside posts, and his military service also included assignments in Germany and South Korea as well as operational deployments to Central America and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Birdwell was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Legion of Merit Award.

Senate District 22 includes Bosque, Coryell, Ellis, Falls, Hill, Hood, Johnson, McLennan, Navarro and Somervell Counties.
