(Austin, TX) - Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC today endorsed State Rep. Todd Hunter in House District 32. In making the endorsement, TLR PAC Chairman Richard J. Trabulsi, Jr., said:
“Rep. Hunter is a strong conservative leader. As current Chairman of the critically important House Calendars Committee and as Chairman of the House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee in 2009, Mr. Hunter has played a key role in blocking dozens of trial lawyer backed bills that would have undermined tort reforms or created new opportunities to sue. In 2011, his leadership was critical in the passage of two meaningful bills: the Omnibus Tort Reform Bill, which includes two “loser pays” provisions and improves the fairness and efficiency of litigation; and the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association Reform Bill, which makes the wind insurer more transparent, accountable and solvent, while providing efficient remedies to policyholders. TLR PAC is proud to endorse him.”
Rep. Hunter is a Corpus Christi-based attorney. He attended the University of Kansas and received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
TLR PAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform, the state's largest civil justice reform organization. TLR is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with more than 17,000 supporters residing in 869 Texas communities and representing 1,266 different businesses, professions and trades.
